If you want to go ahead with a forum, this could actually satisfy all
arguements. You can modify a forum so that it acts as a mailing list
aswell, so we can have some people posting on the forum, and others
using their email client.

Using a mailing list for so much discussions just seems like were living
in the past. Its horribly complicated compared to simply clicking "quote
reply" in phpbb, and it makes it so much easier to read numbers of
messages rather than trudging through an inbox with about 30 emails.

If you ever decide to go ahead with a forum solution, and you use phpbb,
I will happily maintain it. Ive been using phpbb for over 2 years now,
and im in the process of converting a site to use its
sessions/templating/functions as part of the entire site. Its not like
were planning on having a super sized 30,000 member forum, so wheres the
high maintenence? Unless we go overly ambitious with forum modding, then
updating is a matter of copying new files over.

Seeing a topic with 30 replies is alot easier than seeing 30 seperate
emails. Its far, FAR more organised aswell.
