Yeah.  Sorry.  Should have worked that out on my own.  Works in xine, 
too, and the xine playback of the file dumped by mplayer is immeasurably 
better than it is in mplayer.

Can't work out how to get xine to do real time streaming, though: or get 
it to dump the stream to a file.  So short of further info, I may just 
have to get the files via mplayer and then play them with xine.  Not 
elegant, but it seems to work.
