Interesting ideas,

it is like 3 LUGs in one. Rationalising that may be the first step
towards greater 'unity of purpose'.

The article itself checklisted some ideas (I've starred most relevant to
us in my opinion):-

* Put someone in charge of the website and keep it up to date *
* Have a few people to make decisions and make someone the single point
of contact *
* Consider meeting at the weekend *
* Forge a relationship with a close LUG
* Forge a relationship with a distant LUG
* Hold and event, such as an installfest *
* Get in touch with local IT businesses *

All seem pretty standard, I know we have a website but it is WOEFULLY
out of date, and just expecting people to add stuff isn't the way the
real world works. Every other club I've joined has had a contact point
such as a club captain or secretary that was the initial point of
contact for new members - again pretty standard. Weekend meetings -
maybe more people can come, and not feel so guilty about having a wee
drinky at the same time as opposed to drinking on a worknight? Local
business contacts - makes sense.

It is a good list of points to discuss but at some point a few of us are
going to have to step up to the plate here. I understand that FLOSS
people can be about as herdable as cats, but in the real world this kind
of organisation actually works for many clubs and organisations.

Can I get an AMEN (Or boos and rotten tomatoes)?
