It's really easy to set up a static site in WP.  The advantages are the 
themes/skins/templates (whatever you want to call them), the ease of 
adding new pages (or posts if you have them) and the ease of making 
alterations to existing pages (or posts if you have them). You don't 
have to have any blog-like pages at all on a WP site if you don't want 
to.  I could set up a blog-less WP site in the time it takes me to type 
in the content (plus a bit for installation - say 30 mins including 
setting up the database).

But I'm not a salesman for WP, if someone else knows of an easier way of 
getting a pretty (as in nicely styled and designed) site that suits the 
requirements, then I'm all for it.
