Hi folks,

Glasiad here from Bridgend area. Been using Linux OS's for about a year
now. Different distros. Currently I have SuSE 9.3 on one box and Mepis
on another. OK, intro over. Now to my subject / problem:

Been connecting to the internet via broadband adsl using
speedtouch modems configured with the help of Steve Parker's script
posted on sourceforge. No
problems. But then both my speedtouch modems burnt out in one week and
the only replacement I could find locally in a pinch was an "eTec" adsl
usb modem that included drivers for Windows on a cd but nothing else.
Unable to find much on the Net to help. So now I've no choice but
to use a Windows OS for internet use.

So, my questions:

Does anyone on this list have any experience with eTec adsl modems and can they be configured to work with a Linux OS?

If the answer is no to either or both parts of that question, what may
I ask is an easy and affordable solution to getting a Linux box hooked
up to the internet available to us here in Wales?
