Hello, allow me to introduce myself, my name is Chris, I come from Neath Port Talbot, I work with Ubuntu projects and I am heading up a new project called Ubuntu-cym which will be a LoCo team much like Ubuntu-ie or Ubuntu-UK, you can find out more information either about me at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/Chris or about the project at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/WelshTeam. I am contacting you, the SWLUG today, perhaps the only surviving LUG in Wales and a specialist of the S. Wales area because I am actively searching members for the Ubuntu-Cym LoCo team, especially those who can help plan meetups at venues in Wales.

Currently I am planning for the Jaunty Release Part on 23rd April (http://chrisswift.eu/chris/2009/03/10/jaunty-release-party/) as a meetup for Ubuntu users and then later in the evening any GNU/Linux user who wants to tag along and talk to the rest of us. I would like it if Welsh Linux users, Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Gentoo, Arch or whatever would join the group over at https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-cym and then visited the IRC once in a while with details over at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WelshTeam/IRC. Also, as a favour, can I request that if you know of any good locations for venues for a meetup and a good place to setup a booth/stand in Swansea, Cardiff or another relatively large settlement in the South of Wales, could you please provide me some information for it?

I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read this email, if you have any questions can you please reply either through the mailing list or if it is slightly confidential then directly to me either at this address or at Chris [aaattt] chrisswift [dot] eu. I'd also be appreciative of your thoughts and opinions.

Thanks & regards,
Christopher Swift.
