<p dir="ltr">I agree their should be an option for HTTPS for those wishing to use it and I can see in the not too distant future it being the norm. There is talk that HTTP 2.0 may be encrypted only, and IPv6 supports encryption in protocol.</p>
<p dir="ltr">At this point GitHub Pages, which is where the SWLUG site is hosted, doesn't support HTTPS.</p>
