You could use Syncthing for the transfer process. Not sure you could get all the access, but if you do manual backup to a folder then Syncthing will do the automatic file sync to someplace else, another phone, a server, a PC etc. You can get Syncthing on FDroid,
I assume you can then also get the APK if you don't use FDroid<span id="ms-outlook-android-cursor"></span><br>

i've just received brother in laws old phone, way better than mine!<br>
but not having a google account and running lineageos, transferring some stuff <br>
is a pain.<br>
is there an alternative to goggle account that can store locally on my server, <br>
i thought nextcloud might but that only seems to have specific apps for sms <br>
and files.<br>
on my phone i have notes app, an app for fuel economy etc. <br>
i'd like to be able to back up all that stuff to a local account and then just <br>
restore it on a new phone.<br>
is this a thing?<br>

I don't know if this will help as I don't know anything about lineageos,<br>
but if you connect an Android phone with a USB cable it will start to<br>
charge the phone. However, there is also a feature that allows you to<br>
transfer files. I use it for Shotwell. That seems to give you access to<br>
most of Android's files. Is it there for lineageos?<br>

yes it is but the files that are made visible are only the internal sdcard <br>
storage and any external sdcard, unfortunately some info is installed in <br>
places that are not exposed this way. anyway i installed a root enabled file <br>
manager on the old phone and then moved stuff to the internal storage to copy <br>
over. not all of it can be just inserted into the new phone but i'm basically <br>
there:)<br>
