Date and £35 price point are good for me. Agree we should stay close to central for accessibility. Food wise I’m indifferent as I’ll eat anything :)

Hi all,

Firstly, I agree that wherever we choose needs to be reasonably close to Cardiff Central and the bus station to allow as many people as possible to attend. I live near the city centre so that would also be convenient walking distance for me.

I am not vegetarian or vegan, and am not that keen on Indian food, so VFS would not appeal to me (that's why I didn't go last year). However as we have used it the last nine years it must be a strong contender and a safe bet.

Personally a carvery would be good but most have very limited vegetarian and vegan options (or indeed any options if you don't want a roast), and I don't think there are any near Cardiff Central.

I have no idea what Coopers Carvery is like, but my other experience of Marston's food offerings have not been great. It probably depends a lot on the individual establishment. It wouldn't be suitable for the location criteria anyway.

The suggested price range up to £35-ish is reasonable. We should aim higher than Wetherspoons for our Christmas meal!

I think partners or other guests (one per member) should be welcomed but not expected as some of us are single.

I know my reply rejects the option we have used for many years and one other, and doesn't add anything, but it's my thoughts. I won't be that bothered if I don't attend.

Best regards,
Paul

Hey,

Funnily enough I was thinking about this yesterday.

We've been going to VFS for 9 years in total. I'd much rather go to VFS over pretty much anywhere else.

In the past people have bought non-linuxy partners, so that's obviously fine.

Personally, I'm pretty fixed to it having to be something in or near Central station, just so I don't have too far to walk to get my train home.

The date is fine for me. VFS would be my personal choice.

Cheers,
