It is funny to me to note that it looks exactly the same from the
other side of the fence (switching from SuSE  - which is Fedora-esque
only better - to Debian and Ubuntu.)

One thing I like about SuSE / Fedora is 'chkconfig'.  I haven't found
an equivalent in Debian or Ubuntu, though a quick google this
afternoon turned up this tarball:
