[Wiltshire] Looking for Joomla expertise (and possibly hosting)

Hi-

A friend of mine works at a local school and their website is hosted by
a small IT shop in Dorset. They don't get great service from them.
They also pay way too much for the hosting, which would fine if the
service was amazing but it ain't.

The site has been hacked for the second time, and the reason is that the
Joomla platform is very out of date, is not fully patched, and is no
longer supported anyway. They don't have any kind of admin or file
access to their site so they assumed the hoster was taking care of this
but apparently not! The host co says it's not part of their job.

The host co. say they are repairing the damage caused by the hack (they
say this in a way which implies they have no backups) but that the site
will come back with the vulns still there. They want to charge two
grand to port the site to the latest version of Joomla.

I think the school needs to move away from this host urgently. Whether
that's just to a good quality big one like 123-reg (which is cheap and
has one-click Joomla installation) or to a small, local business that
can offer a good personal service I don't mind. They will definitely
need someone to coerce their existing database data and config into
something that a current Joomla version can use.

If anyone is interested in the work, or knows someone who might be,
please respond off list.

Thanks!

John
