On Thursday 15th January Marc Kirby (Senior lecturer and academic lead<br>
for the Forensic Computing MSc course at Cranfield University and former<br>
Head of Computer Forensics at the National Hi-Tech Crime Unit) will give<br>
a talk at New College, Swindon, on Forensic Computing.<br>
<br>
Computers, personal digital assistants and mobile phones are examples of<br>
Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).<br>
<br>
Affordability and increased functionality has led to a worldwide<br>
proliferation of ICT devices. As a consequence ICT are used both to<br>
commit crimes and capture evidence of a wide range of crimes ranging<br>
from terrorism to sexual assault.<br>
<br>
This talk will discuss the challenges and opportunities of forensic<br>
computing in the ever changing ICT environment.<br>
<br>
Registration is from 6.30pm with the presentation scheduled to start at<br>
7pm and finish at 8pm. Light refreshments will be provided.<br>
<br>
The event has is being put on by the Wiltshire branch of the British<br>
Computer Society, is free to attend and open to both members and<br>
non-members.<br>
