Hi All,

I'm really sorry but with my work commitments and family i haven't been keeping upto date with this.

So From what i've read Wiltshire LUG has a place to teach/ display etc for Linux, what hardware do you have if any etc, what do you need ?

If you are looking for PC's but aren't next gen ( XP2400's with 256mb to 1GB of ram Evesham PC's ) i expect i can sort out a few that we will probably be scrapping shortly and maybe some other hardware... we don't use any PC's anymore we are using Terminal Services for 99% of staff.

If you need help or want any specific things let me know, i will try and keep an active eye on the list from now on, things are getting quieter at work now ( Just implemented SAP for our sins :-( )

If i am totally off the path can someone point me in the right direction :P

Thanks,

Andy

2009/6/19 dianne reuby <pramclub@yahoo.co.uk>

Hi,

Our main priority at the moment is getting the exhibition space up and running, but we have two rooms downstairs which we'd like to use for meetings, school visits, etc., once they're ready. At the moment we don't have internet, which would be a drawback for LUG and similar meetings. There is a fund until 2010 from one of the museum organisations to get money to buy equipment when running adult education projects, and that could be applied for, if for example we were teaching people to use Linux.

But it's a question of finding the time to get organised once the museum is open again. Most of our regular volunteers are fully committed, but if anyone wants to talk more about this or has ideas etc let me know. My PC died this week, so I'm emailing this from an XP machine via
webmail :( which is sooo slow and major family committments mean I don't check my mail as often as I did, but I will get back to you.

Dianne
