They still appear to be for sale, both the 5500 and
5600 (pre-order) from the Sharp website and other
places, but it seems daft to buy something that has
been discontinued by it's manufacturer.

For your friends, ebay is probably the place. They
have them at

inc VAT so ebay should be cheaper.

It seems I have finally been able to afford one a bit
too late :( Will have to think about it...
