[Wolves] apt help please

Hi can anyone give me a bit of help what ever I try to install or up date
with apt-get I get errors

Setting up linuxconf (1.26r4-2) ...
update-rc.d: /etc/init.d/linuxconf exists during rc.d purge (continuing)
update-rc.d: symlink: File exists
dpkg: error processing linuxconf (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 17
Errors were encountered while processing:
 linuxconf
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)



what does it all mean ??
