It'll impact the server, though, which is already under a relatively heavy 
load. Fizzy, would you be happy, say, running it on eleet? Or would you think, 
no, hang on, this is one more port I have to have open, one more potentially 
buffer-overrunnable application? The way I see it, we either want a place just 
for us to chat, or a place where we can chat and also talk to others. If the 
latter, then I see no problem with using a previously existing irc server (I 
have no problem with which network it's on) and don't need our own. If the 
former, then I'm much more inclined to suggest that we use something like 
Jabber, because we'll get online/offline notifications and a similar wide choice 
of clients, and we're not going to have to run a server (and therefore aren't 
at any risk of being owned).
