i spoke to si yesterday and he discovered that the letter 'l' in the password was actually a number '1'!! Maybe this upsets the 
modem and it then refuses to work. I seem to remember one of the errors was along the lines of  'you are not authorised to view 
this page' rather than a simple 'page not found' which would suggest it's to do with user authentication.I hope.
