That's about my position too.  Interested in Linux because of the
inherent dangers of a monopoly OS, can't programme or hack to save my
life.  Still use MS mostly, but at least have SuSE up and running on my
home machine, with promises to get to grips with it soon...  I could
really use a Dummies Guide kind of book, but apart from Red Hat specific
stuff, there doesn't seem to be much out there.

I'm no programmer nor network engineer. I am a watcher in the wings of 
th Wolves LUG. Most of what passes backwards and forwards is foreign to 
me, but occasionally someone throws in something I can relate to. For my

part, I am drawn to Linux from socio-political reasons (sorry if that 
sounds pretentious). But I have to admit that Linux has not treated me 
very well. Which is why I am still having to use M£$%^"t to send this 
e-mail!

problem of the inherant security risks of relying one operating system.
