[Wolves] A working gcc?

Hi folks,

I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem getting gcc working? I
want to run gtk-gnutella on Fedora Core 2. So, I have run

yum install gcc

which tells me

"gcc is installed and is the latest version.
No actions to take"

I then did ./Configure from the gtk-gnutella directory and had the message

"Your C compiler "cc" doesn't seem to be working!"

So, how do I start gcc? Any help would be very much appreciated. (Sorry
if this is a bit basic, BTW!)

TIA

Mark
