The command is gcc not cc so I think you need to change the config file 
or create a link from cc to gcc.

Try typing gcc at the command line to check it is on your $PATH too.

I'm not an expert and would have left this for someone else to answer 
but the list doesn't seem to be as active at weekends so I hope this 
helps. I'd Google for 'link cc gcc' to check.
