Whatever method you use to replicata a server just beware that the main 
cause of data loss is human error. There are solutions that will give 
you perfectly replicated empty disks.

Test that your recovery strategy works too. I have seen people trying to 
recover from blank tapes and a Windows NT cluster with hot standby which 
wouldn't boot without the primary machine's system disk on-line. That 
was of course the first component that failed. Some backup systems won't 
back up files that are open in a consistent way because some data is 
cached in memory for performance on many modern disk sub-systems.
