I think mostly HCLs are maintained by distro vendors,
hence RH, SuSE and Mandrake all have good ones, though
these are specific to their own distros, they're
always going to be within a few revisions of each
other and hence the most up to date.

Ultimtately, the best HCL is the kernel itself as
hardware support all comes down to whats available in
the kernel you're going to use.

It's as up to date as January. The best bet is to
choose what you want and then see if it's listed or
google for Linux support. Then again I'm always the
kid that buys something and then waits 6 months for
the software support.
