[Wolves] SuSE and more odd stuff...

Right, I am going to summarise this as best I can. I have added a
second hard drive to my SuSE 9.2 system. It is fitted as slave on the
primary IDE channel. The drive is good and has worked - formatted as
FAT32 on the previous set up of SuSE 9.1 on the same PC. Setting up
the drive through YAST allows me to see the drive as though it is an
optical drive. i.e. I can take files from it, copy files from it but
not write to it. All permissions appear to be correct for any user to
write to the drive.

It made no difference when I set up the drive manually. All entries
in the etc/fstab file are correct - I have double checked this and
been given advice both here and off list by other highly knowledgable
Linux users.

I therefore now conclude that SuSE/Novell have cocked up. From
reading the Novell's own user forums I don't appear to be alone in
this assumption :-(
