I've tried Gentoo a couple of times. Got bored waiting for it to
complete and installed something more usuable instead.

If you want to punish yourself, go visit some of the American
phpBB-based communities (Pocket PC Thoughts is a good example).
They're so sickly that you want to make them choke on their own
emoticons.
