On the other hand tar.gz (also known as .tgz) is the
most commonly used in the linux/unix world so
everybody should have tar & gzip, bz2 is less common
so might cause problems.

For example Winzip will decompress .gz files and untar
.tar files, but I'm not sure about .bz2 files.
