As if I would ;) You can generally use inverters from those little ccd
tubes that fit inside PC's - you lose the brightness control, but if
it's the choice between a new monitor and a £10 inverter, I know which
I'd choose.

On the subject of laptops, has anyone got a USB password reset dongle
for a toshiba M300? I'm stuck with a customer's machine and the old
PRN/TTY tricks don't work because the laptop doesn't have any.
