Ah, my fault, confusing the issue as usual. Anything runs well in text mode on 
the Digital it was the 'stinking GUI' (as some people call it) I was talking 
about. sorry :(

Um, O great and wise one are you saying nano is a mail client? mutt uses vi 
(or what ever you want) as its editor for writing mails. Maybe I miss read 
the details on nano but I'm pretty sure it was just another text editor, so 
we are talking at cross purposes as the main point is the mail client.

They maybe old hat but they're still out there I used netrik to look at a 
couple of sites but they were not much cop (yes one of them was my site)

I don't think mutt does.
