Good point. I'll adopt that as my reasoning from now on.

Actually there is a simple explanation. If it all goes tits up and I'm
not in the office, I'd like my non-geek colleagues (most of whom think
a floppy drive is something that can be improved by adjusting your
grip) to be able to pick up the phone to someone during normal UK
business hours and ask for help. Explaining to them that it's not
possible because I shipped all their data to the other side of the
Atlantic might not go down to well.
