First of all, cheers, Ad.  That reply on Peter C's post (the rant one)
at least shows me that I am learning and that something has sunk into
my head :-)

I'm currently sorting out a laptop with the help of Peter C, and I am
very grateful for that help :-) cheers Peter.  I fully intend to
install Linux on this laptop so will play with the partitioning when
it's done.

More on this when the laptop is finally working properly.  I am
currently awaiting delivery of an inverter board then it can all go
back together.
