Mobility Email (and all Mozilla-based stuff) use MBOX.  This allows you
to transport across different platforms without too many headaches.

You mean to have two programs?  One Linux and one Windows?  Can you
elaborate?

I know there is a version of Portable Thunderbird that runs on PCs and
Mac.  It uses some fancy scripting to change the bits that need
changing.  If this scripting is GPL we could fold it into the Mobility
Project in time.  However, as I said in my mail to Peter we have a
strong focus on making sure any solution will be as simple and as
consistent as possible.

I'm very glad to have your input at this juncture so that we can plot
some conceptual designs.
