Just a note to say thanks to Alex for the GIS/GPS talk. I was brought up
loving maps (my Dad's a rambler) and I'm already in the periphery of the
Open Street Map project, but it was really interesting to learn a bit more
about the various technologies surrounding the subject.

Also, a plug for the Rutland project. Anyone interested in getting involved
with OSM would be more than welcome to join the Midlands group as they
attempt to map Britain's smallest county all in one weekend. This is
happening this weekend - 14th/15th October, details to be had from the OSM
