Also look into the Infopoint project http://infopointproject.org which
was started at WolvesLUG by Jono.  We have not done anything in the past
few years, but the project is still ticking over elsewhere.  Subscribe
to the mailing list and you should get some friendly advice from other
people who have done something similar.
