How is it cruel and unusual? It's not like they want to hang him up from
his eyelashes or anything.

He's lucky that the judge is letting him use a computer at all, and I
don't see why everyone else's taxes should be spent developing the
monitoring software for linux too.

Bear in mind that this is a part of his "home imprisonment" sentencing,
and he's also done some jail time - where he won't have much choice in
OS either. If he doesn't like it, he shouldn't have done the crime - and
no-one's *making* him use a computer at all.
