It's yours if you want it James as the first
responder.

I've removed the user accounts, changed the root
password and emptied root's command history. It's
never really been used for real work, just play, but I
will give you the Debian Alpha 3.1 CD I installed it
with should you wish to reinstall.

Booting is interesting. It should boot from the hard
disk by default, but I have found it hasn't been doing
that as I've been preparing it to give away. My blog
post explains how to tell it to boot from a particular
disk.

As far as I recall it's not actually serving anything
and there has never been any serious data on there, so
I'll leave Debian installed for you.

Other notes include it uses an SRM console as BIOS
type environment but also has an emulted BIOS for
installing Windows NT for Alpha. Using the emulated
BIOS means you can use DOS style partitions but this
is not supported after Debian Woody. The SRM console
allows you to install all Debian Alpha releases but
means you have to use BSD style disklabels instead of
DOS partitions.

Either you can collect from my house by car or wait
for the show and tell at the next meeting assuming I
can make it and I will bring it and you can take it
home with you.

I'll have to see if I can dig out my ZX81 for the show
and tell :)
