[Wolves] Ubuntu 7.10 can't get any to versions to work!

i had problems installing ubuntu 7.10 onto a scsii hard drive, it
would keep corrupting grub., I solved it by downloading with the
alternate desktop CD version and chosing LVM partitions (not exactly
sure why this helps).
