OK so most people are probably bored with this thread by now but in the
interests of seeing "Pete squirm" for a little bit longer here is the
next installment of mirth at my expense.

I have proof that Zen Cart is crap!
As I said before I've been trying to create a 'sidebox' to stick the
stupid SSL Cert logo in, and followed this
http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/Tutorial from the wiki to the letter.

Now you need three files;
new_sidebox.php
new_sidebox_defines.php
tpl_new_sidebox.php the new_sidebox_defines.php

'defines' seems to be the main brains of the show however as I said when
the sidebox is enabled it kills 90% of the site. Anyway, I decided to
kill all the code in new_sidebox_defines.php and replace the code in
/new/_sidebox.php with;
<p align="center" style="margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 0">
<img border="0"
src="http://www.centro.co.uk/store/images/rapidssl_ssl_certificate.gif"
width="90" height="50"></p>

Now that should not work as the 'defines' directive is dead but guess
what? Yep you guessed right, it works! Go figure?

The stupid, useless, frigging (Can you tell I'm upset?) shop produces
invoices and shipping notes, is there an option to stick your own logo
on? Of course not, you have to overwrite logo.gif with your own! Now you
might say "Well whats wrong with that?" I tell you, its bad design
practice logo.gif is a global logo true you might not want ZenCart all
over your crappy shop but its still bad practice most web sites, blogs
or whatever have a "Upload your logo" function this is because not
everyone has FTP access or even the ability to manipulate FTP anyway.

Oh and then the boss said "Oi Pete it sticks this report crap on the
invoices and Del notes can you get that off?" after biting his arm off
using a small chipmunk and beating him senseless with the bloody end I
then spent an hour on the forum only to find out that "Hey we actually
thought of that one and you can turn it off in the Admin panel" (cry)

To be continued.......
