Howdy,

We're looking for an operational sysadmin to help look after Launchpad
and other Canonical web apps. It's a work from home job, with some
travel.

Here's the important bit:

Required skills and experience:

 * Systems administration experience, handling a large number of machines
 * IP networking (routing, firewalls), and related services (DNS,
DHCP, TFTP, etc)
 * Security (from network through to operating system and application) skills
 * Scripting (preferably Python and shell)
 * Familiarity with Ubuntu (or Debian)
 * Able to communicate clearly in English especially using email and
instant messaging
 * Must be self-driven and able to troubleshoot, ask others when
appropriate, and find answers
 * Must be motivated and organized; capable of working from home and
being highly productive

Desirable skills and experience:
 * Cisco IOS (or similar) experience to ISP level, particularly
routing (BGP and OSPF) and switching (802.1q, VTP, STP)
 * Experience as a DBA
 * Experience with cloud computing and/or Linux virtualization
 * Experience with apache, squid, haproxy, puppet, iptables, nagios,
and asterisk
 * Experience automating infrastructure or deploying/upgrading
configuration management systems

Email me off-list if you want to know more.
