May I post a bit of an ad?

For folks interested in DIY robots, TechFest is on this Saturday (16th
June).

It will host the UK Micromouse championships, which include robot maze
solvers, wall and line followers, drag racers, robot sumo as well as
demonstrations of antweight robot-wars, bipeds, robot football.

Competition robots are programmed by the competitors, and the majority
of robots are designed and built by the them too. So it is heart-
warming to see that children and adults are still into tech-DIY.
(AFAIK, no compeitior uses Linux; these are all 'bare-metal' embedded
systems)

It is free to enter the competition, and free for spectators (as in
beer).

Most events have School, Junior and Senior categories, so if you have
children please take them along.

It is held at BCU in Millennium Point in Birmingham (also home to the
ThinkTank and iMax), and opens for visitors at 10am 16th June.

If you'd like to enter (and have most of a robot ready :-) you can
check the competitions and rules at http://www.bcu.ac.uk/tee/events/techfest/micromouse

I hope the ad is okay.
Thanks, GB
