i have a compaq cq58 that has a broken screen that have been taken out.

i have been told that the vga driver is not installed so i can't get
bios screen up without a new screen installed in this laptop.

is there a way to get grub to take control of the laptop and switch it
over to external screen making it possible to boot off usb stick and
then install linux on that hard drive.

maybe i have to use something like plop boot manager?

thanx for all the help so far driving me a bit nuts this laptop. i
may end up just putting it on ebay and using the money to buy a second
hand quad core desktop computer from speedie computers that seem to
have them at a good price.

should really be looking for a job i guess but being out of the job
market for 20 years not really a vialable job out there for disabled
old me.I still have no money from the jobcentre not sure what they
think i am using to help me get a job so anyway my life is S*** who
cares.

i have no car now as well the wheel came off sunday nite on the a441
lucky it was giving me big warnings so was just doing 30mph.
