The pc locked once with me so far and it was probably my fault and I didn't know how to recover it, hence my questions. I am, however, occasionally the pc does not boot all the way, it seems to hang around the area when it it is checking IDE, it may be because I don't have a piece of hardware connected to the primary IDE as I have a SATA hard drive and it has a separate connection on the motherboard. I might put the CD-ROM on the primary IDE and the DVD on the secondary IDE, that way the boot process is not waiting for a reply when probing the hardware which is what I think is happening.</DIV>
