OK I know this is an 'idiot user screwed up his system' question, but that is what I've done.

I was fiddling around with the options for the login screen bit, and I saw an option that I thought might give me a login screen a bit like XP - where my 6 year old could just click on his picture to login rather than having to type a username.

Problem is, it didn't do that, and the system now asks me which (remote) host I want to login to. Of course, there aren't any. The only options I have are to re-search for a host [ still none ;-) ] or reboot. I can get to command line and login, but I don't know where to go to put this right.
I can also get to the disks and configuration files with Puppy Linux - but I still can't find one that looks like it might help.

Sorry I can't be more specific, but it was a few days ago that i screwed it up, and can't remember exactly.

What else ? It's the latest version, Edgy Eft, which I had just installed (that's why I was messing with it !)

Thanks for any help.

Tim.C
(Microsoft Trainer, but Linux beginner !)
