<p>That particular model has a removable display cable. It's a moderately difficult procedure but with patience and care can be achieved by DIY.</p>
<p>Ribbons can be acquired from numerous places, eBay being one. </p>

often the ribbon is part of the screen and can't be replaced separately.<br>

get more brittle with age. Bloody stupid things have cost me hours<br>
