Thanks for the info on Plex & the dpt usage by it below.
OpenVPN now works for my laptop as the VPN client to my desktop as
the VPN server. I've used user/password authentication as that
looks like the best way to use an Android device as a VPN client.
I'm using VPN for Android app to configure & connect from my
Android devices. However, I can't figure out how to save profile's
details (entered into VPN for Android e.g. router internet
address, required user & password) let alone how to actually
start/stop a VPN session! I've emailed VPN for Android's author
& am awaiting a reply. <br>

The rest of the stuff in your mail looked OK, is there anything else not
working with OpenVPN, or are you just confused about that log message?
It looks like the laptop firewall is blocking packets from your Plex
DLNA server coming into port 32412 over your wifi card to a multicast
address , but it won't be affecting OpenVPN.
