Dear All,

Please see the appeal for help, attached, and please contact me if you are
interested in supporting this project.

As many of you know, we've never had much of a response to our previous
offers to help local schools, so this may be the opportunity that we've
been looking for.

Obviously, it is also an golden opportunity to blow our credibility with
local schools, so I would strongly urge people to be moderate,
thoughtful and constructive in any responses you make.

In particular, I'd urge people to be sensitive to the fact that
integration with almost exclusively MS-Windows ecosystems is an
overwhelming and inescapable priority for schools.

Above all, I'd urge those who have direct personal experience of doing
what Jonathon wants in a Windows environment to come forward.

While we have great technical experience in WYLUG, as Linux grows many
of us are less inclined keep-up Windows skills that we no longer need,
but schools still do.

This project looks like a prime candidate for one of the specialist
working groups we discussed recently.

While I wouldn't want to constrain individual responses, I do think it
would probably help Jonathon and our own volunteers most, if we
co-ordinated our efforts through such a group.

Dave
