Yes, I had a play with one of those at an educational tech show last year and liked it a lot. I thought the haptic feedback was especially good.

At the 3d PrintShow last year, I got to play with a haptic 3d mouse, which I think is actually more useful than a 3d kinect-like device, I was very impressed with it's feel and how it worked.

Unfortunately the only modelling software to support it was cloud9 - a Windows-only piece of closed-source software.
