Future Publishing have been restructuring in an attempt to increase the proportion of their income which comes from digital media. They have been flogging or dumping those (paper) titles seen as either loss making or with falling revenues.

This is in common with many other media companies and the level of success or lack of it varies across the sector. Income is falling steadily across the traditional media sector in its entirety. I'd probably feel unsettled if I was on an editorial team in such an environment.

But it is the direction publishing is moving in overall. There just aren't enough of us buying to keep those titles viable from a boardroom/shareholder perspective. So unless we're all prepared to go out and buy sufficient shares in the company to sway the board and take the losses on the chin ourselves it's something we'll have to live with.

I just hope these guys have sufficient success to keep the thing going virtually.

On 11 November 2013 22:44, linux <linux@sh2515.plus.com> wrote:
