If you choose to take the path of upgrading using a direct update from
FC7 to F10 (note it is not FC10!) then if you subsequently get
problems it is not too surprising. This method of upgrade from 7 to
10 is definitely not recommended. Gnome has moved to a much newer
version also in the latest Fedora and the old config files are more
than likely to cause problems - you could remove (or backup) all the
relevant gnome files/directories and allow the system to recreate
them.... that may fix your problems...

...but I fail to understand why it is that you ignore the advice to do
a clean install - I have done that with 8 machines and none have these
problems. You are likely to spend much less time trying to fix
multiple problems by doing things the recommended way rather than
choosing to make these large jumps from very old systems to cutting
edge ones.

I have tried to explain the reasons why that method is not advisable
but if you choose to do that despite the advice then you will likely
come across problems again. It is better to spend time making a new
clean install work than fixing residual problems by choosing a
non-advised method but it is a free world and you can of course do
whatever you like!

Good luck.
