Hi All
I'm also planning on being there, as I said I would like to look at
installing .tgz files if we have the time.
This week I've been playing with my Acer Aspire One net book and have
had 3 different linux flavors on it. Just loading Eeebuntu 3 base on it
at the moment but did have a beta version of Whatt OS installed which is
a very lightweight Ubuntu remix for older hardware with the OpenBox GUI.
It only takes up 2.5Gig of hard drive space. Downside is there is no
package manager in the Beta (although they may rectify that in the
distribution release) so new software has to be installed in the
terminal using apt-get, which is fine if your ok with the command line,
but not much good for new users to Linux.
See you tomorrow
Regards
Tony Hughes
