Hi everyone, a bit remiss of me, apologies Oggcamp has taken up alot of my
time recently.

Do we want to do anything for software freedom day?

I am torn, because on the same day is Barcamp Mediacity (
http://barcampmediacity.co.uk/) which I really fancy going to.

Anyone got any thoughts?

Thanks
Les

Hi Everyone

You all helped with SFD in Manchester 2010 and I hope you would like to
help out with SFD in Manchester 2011. It's on Saturday, 17th September
at Madlab.

This year we have some additional cool things to make the event better:

* We are teaming up with Arcspace and the SFD event will be part of
their week long 'Hackademia' festival.

* We are teaming up with ManLUG, they are going to integrate their
meeting into SFD in Manchester. Details TBC.

* At least in the morning we will use both floors of Madlab and,
probably, use the top floor for talks and videos.

* We are going to do 'Just in Time' leafleting to get people in
Manchester on the day to drop in and see what all this 'Free Software'
thing is about. That's the people SFD is trying to reach.

* And a special mention to HACMan, who are again involved and have
generously allowed their Madlab slot to be used for SFD.

Further ideas welcome.

I don't think things will really heat up until the beginning of August.
We may create a mailing list to help with the coordination. If you don't
want to be on that let us know, although you would be notified you are
on the list and it would have clear unsubscribe details.

Regards,
Mike.
MFS Chair.
