Hi Tony, Elizabeth
My top tips are
Do what Tony said first.
If that doesn't work
Find out what the graphics card is, best way is to open a terminal and run "sudo lshw"
Google the graphics card details and Linux Mint, see if others have had the issue.
I won't be at the makerspace for the next 3 weeks, but I am sure that Tony, Mike, Olly and others can help.

Hi Elizabeth
in Menu invigorates you should see an icon that looks like a computer screen or go into control centre its in there as well. (see screen shot)
open this and you will see a control panel which gives you the option to change the screen resolution and detect the monitor. (see second Screen shot)
if this does not resolve the issue I think it will need a config file amending or even creating and Les is more the person to speak to. So bring it on Saturday and we will have a look.

Hi all
I have just installed Mint 17 on an E-System 4213 but the resolution is wrong & appears to be unchangeable.
Resolution is currently 640 x 480
I think this laptop resolution should be 1280x800
Can anyone help me sort this please?
Thanks
Elizabeth
